Thing Banner Pattern Recipe in Minecraft Bedrock
Craft a reusable Thing Banner Pattern in Minecraft Bedrock with Paper and an Enchanted Golden Apple, then use it with dye at a loom.
The Thing Banner Pattern adds the small Mojang-style mark to a banner in Minecraft Bedrock. Craft one with one Paper and one Enchanted Golden Apple, then use it in a loom with a banner and dye. The pattern stays after each loom use, so one crafted pattern can decorate as many banners as you need.
The craft is shapeless, so the Paper and apple can go in any two crafting-table slots. The Enchanted Golden Apple is spent when you craft the pattern, not when you add the Thing to a banner.
Thing Banner Pattern and Mojang Banner Pattern are the same
In Bedrock, the item name is Thing Banner Pattern. You may also see it called the Mojang Banner Pattern in older recipe names or searches. Both names point to the pattern that makes a colored Thing design on a banner.
The color comes from the dye you place in the loom, not from the pattern itself. A white banner with black dye produces a Black Thing. Change the dye and the mark changes with it, while the banner’s base color stays behind the design.
That is useful when the mark is part of a flag, a shop sign, or a storage-room label. Pick the banner color for the background, then choose dye with enough contrast for the Thing to read from a distance.
Craft the Thing Banner Pattern
Put these two items into a crafting table:
Paper
Enchanted Golden Apple
One craft gives one reusable Thing Banner Pattern. There is no fixed arrangement to remember, unlike a shaped recipe. The recipe planner calculates the Paper and Enchanted Golden Apples for the pattern items you want to craft. It does not count loom uses, because the same pattern remains after each banner.
The recipe uses an Enchanted Golden Apple, not an ordinary Golden Apple. The two items have different names and are not interchangeable here. Check the item name before committing a rare apple to a decoration project.
Add the Thing to a banner at a loom
Bring a banner, a dye, and the crafted Thing Banner Pattern to a loom. The loom has a banner slot, a dye slot, and a slot for an optional banner pattern item.
Place the banner and dye first, then add the Thing Banner Pattern. The available design becomes the Thing for the dye color you chose. Take the finished banner from the result slot when the preview matches the flag or sign you wanted. The pattern stays in the loom for the next banner.
For a simple high-contrast result, use a white banner and black dye. For a darker base, try a light dye so the mark does not disappear into the background. The loom lets you put the banner back in later if the design needs another layer in a different color.
Plan a banner before using the pattern
The Thing is a detail, not a full banner plan. Make the background color and the Thing color do different jobs. A dark blue banner with a white Thing reads like an emblem. A bright banner with a similar-color dye makes a quieter texture.
For a wall of matching markers, decide on the base and dye pair, then use the same Thing Banner Pattern at the loom for each banner. One Paper and one Enchanted Golden Apple cover the initial pattern craft. Use the recipe planner only when you need to craft pattern items, not to count the banners that need the mark.
Find the pattern again
Search Thing Banner Pattern when you are looking through Bedrock items. Search Mojang Banner Pattern if a recipe page, video, or older note uses that wording. The names describe the same colored banner design: one Paper and one Enchanted Golden Apple craft a reusable pattern, then a loom adds it to banners.
