Farmer trades

Choose a Farmer for a crop-based emerald supply. Match its Novice offer to your farm, then unlock pumpkin and melon-block trades.

Worth it for: renewable emerald income and reliable food from ordinary crop farms.

Make the plan work in your village

  1. Give the villager access to its profession's workstation, then inspect its actual offers and prices.
  2. Use an available trade to gain villager XP. A later-rank selected offer requires reaching that rank before you can use it; budget the leveling materials as well as the purchase price.
  3. When an offer sells out, let the villager return to its job site. Check the replenished stock and price before running the next batch.

Job sites, XP unlocks, and restocking: Minecraft's Bedrock trading rules. Selection percentages apply when a rank unlocks its offers.

Rank unlocks

  1. Novice 0 XP
  2. Apprentice 10 XP
  3. Journeyman 70 XP
  4. Expert 150 XP
  5. Master 250 XP

Keep, reroll, or level?

Choose around the offers and prices visible on your villager.

Early

Match the crop

One of wheat, potatoes, beetroot, or carrots is selected at Novice. Keep the villager whose buy matches your farm.

Mid

Pumpkins and melons

Six pumpkins at Apprentice and four melon blocks at Journeyman each buy one emerald and are guaranteed.

Late

Golden food

Master selects golden carrots or glistering melon slices, one of two candidates.

Keep or reroll

The Novice crop buy is the decision point. A specific crop has a 25% equal-selection estimate in the 1-of-4 group; later pumpkin and melon income offers don't need a roll.

Farm and supply fit

  • • Wheat, carrot, potato, or beetroot farm
  • • Pumpkin farm
  • • Melon farm

Situational deals

  • • Bread is convenient, but it spends the emeralds the crop trade just earned.
  • • Suspicious stew has a randomized effect, so do not plan around one result.
  • • Cookies, cake, apples, and pumpkin pie are convenience trades rather than strong emerald production.

Bedrock caveats

  • • Prices shown are base table prices. Demand changes can raise a price according to the listed multiplier.

From farm income to food

Turn crop earnings into golden carrots

Calculate the emeralds your current crop offer earns, then use that total as your inventory for the golden-carrot offer. Check the master offer on your villager first: raising the villager does not guarantee this selected deal.
