Fisherman trades

Keep a Fisherman when string, coal, cod, or salmon is already abundant. It has several income ranks, but many key offers are selected rather than guaranteed.

Worth it for: turning fishing supplies and fish into emeralds, plus cooked-fish convenience.

Choose an offer you can see, enter what you have, and use the price shown in your world. Each result spends inventory on this offer only.

Output variants and quantities

Change the price and stock to match your villager. Enchanted-book prices must be entered. Ranges show two price scenarios, not a probability.

Make the plan work in your village

  1. Give the villager access to its profession's workstation, then inspect its actual offers and prices.
  2. Use an available trade to gain villager XP. A later-rank selected offer requires reaching that rank before you can use it; budget the leveling materials as well as the purchase price.
  3. When an offer sells out, let the villager return to its job site. Check the replenished stock and price before running the next batch.

Job sites, XP unlocks, and restocking: Minecraft's Bedrock trading rules. Selection percentages apply when a rank unlocks its offers.

Rank unlocks

  1. Novice 0 XP
  2. Apprentice 10 XP
  3. Journeyman 70 XP
  4. Expert 150 XP
  5. Master 250 XP

Keep, reroll, or level?

Choose around the offers and prices visible on your villager.

Early

String or coal

Novice selects one of the two emerald buys, so match the villager to your supply.

Mid

Cod and salmon

The Apprentice cod buy and Journeyman salmon buy are guaranteed.

Late

Specialized income

Expert buys tropical fish. Master selects pufferfish or a supported boat type.

Keep or reroll

Check the Novice income offer first. String and coal are a 1-of-2 selection; an unwanted roll removes the income route you planned around.

Farm and supply fit

  • • String farm
  • • Coal mining
  • • Cod and salmon supply
  • • Tree farm for boats

Situational deals

  • • The fish-cooking offers cost emeralds as well as raw fish; they trade fuel and time for convenience.
  • • The enchanted fishing rod has only three uses before stock is exhausted, though its offer is guaranteed at Journeyman.
  • • The Master boat offer accepts supported boat variants according to the villager's conditions.

Bedrock caveats

  • • Some fish and boat inputs depend on their variant and world context.
