Deep Lukewarm Ocean vs Lukewarm Ocean in Bedrock

Compare the exact Bedrock IDs, sand floor, climate and depth values of Deep Lukewarm Ocean and Lukewarm Ocean.

By YapDB

Deep Lukewarm Ocean and Lukewarm Ocean have separate Bedrock IDs and share a sand sea-floor material. Choose the exact ID when a command or seed note requires it, then inspect the actual water depth at the place you want to build.

The lukewarm pair lists different sea_floor_depth values, 7 and 3. Treat those as guides rather than exact water depths at every coordinate.

The deep_ocean label alone does not guarantee a deeper build site. Look below the surface before choosing a location for a submerged room, tunnel, or farm.

Choose a destination for your task

  • Collect sand: both biomes list it as the sea-floor material. Find a usable patch at a depth you can work at.
  • Plan surface travel: both have a sand-and-water surface configuration. Check the shore and entry point for your intended route.
  • Build underwater: inspect the actual terrain and plan breathing, access and an escape route before collecting materials.
  • Match a command or add-on: keep the complete ID, including deep_ when required.

Find the exact ID

With cheats enabled in the Overworld:

/locate biome minecraft:deep_lukewarm_ocean
/locate biome minecraft:lukewarm_ocean

A biome lookup returns a destination for the requested definition. It does not check the floor shape at your chosen building coordinate. When using a seed finder, choose Bedrock and the world version first.

Check wildlife separately

The shared ocean and lukewarm tags are inputs to spawn rules. A mob may also require particular blocks, light, height, and population conditions. The Deep Lukewarm Ocean reference lists its mob matches and resources; the ocean comparison hub compares other sea-floor materials.
