Deep Lukewarm Ocean
minecraft:deep_lukewarm_ocean
Visit Deep Lukewarm Ocean for a sand sea floor and warm-water wildlife, including tropical fish and pufferfish. Bring a plan for underwater travel; its surface looks much like ordinary Lukewarm Ocean.
Find the exact biome
/locate biome minecraft:deep_lukewarm_oceanRequires cheats. Searches the current dimension; legacy definitions may not generate in your world.
Choose your destination
The ordinary ocean sibling with the same climate and a sea-floor depth of 3.
A separate warm-tagged biome with different spawn filters.
The temperate deep-ocean profile.
Why visit Deep Lukewarm Ocean
This biome combines deeper open water with the lukewarm mob set. It is a practical place to look for tropical fish and pufferfish without choosing the ordinary Lukewarm Ocean profile, and its sand floor is useful for a submerged build or bulk collection.
The exact biome also matters to commands, seed notes, and add-ons. Deep Lukewarm Ocean and Lukewarm Ocean share a climate family, but they keep separate IDs and different surface-builder depths.
Terrain and travel
Expect a sand sea floor and open water without the broken ice found in frozen oceans.
Inspect the actual floor before planning a dive. The listed depth is a guide; it does not make every point exactly seven blocks deep.
Mobs and structures
Mobs that can spawn here
- Tropical Fish
They can spawn in oceans with warm or lukewarm water.
- Pufferfish
They can spawn where the ocean and lukewarm conditions meet.
- Dolphin
Its ocean rule excludes frozen and cold biomes, so it matches here.
- Cod
Its ocean condition excludes warm biomes; lukewarm still qualifies.
- Salmon
Its ocean condition also excludes warm biomes rather than lukewarm ones.
- Squid
Its underwater surface condition matches the ocean tag.
- Drowned
The ocean rule spawns them underwater at light level 0–7 on Easy through Hard.
Actual spawns still depend on height, light, difficulty, population caps, distance from the player, and other conditions.
Structure limits
Finding this biome does not guarantee a monument, ruin, shipwreck, or buried treasure.
Use /locate structure with the structure's own ID when the structure is the goal. A biome lookup and a structure lookup answer different questions.
Resources
- Sand
Look for it across the sea floor, then choose a depth you can mine safely.
- Tropical fish
Lukewarm water can support their ocean spawning conditions.
- Pufferfish
They have a spawning condition for lukewarm oceans.
- Ink sacs
Squid use the ocean tag and can supply ink sacs.
How to find it
With cheats enabled, /locate biome is the reliable way to separate Deep Lukewarm Ocean from ordinary Lukewarm Ocean. The command returns the nearest matching biome if one exists in the current dimension.
In survival, open water, a sand floor, tropical fish, and pufferfish identify the lukewarm family. Those clues do not separate the two variants by themselves. The deeper floor profile is the useful visual check.
Biome ID and command
/locate biome minecraft:deep_lukewarm_oceanThe namespace and underscores are part of the ID. The page URL uses hyphens; commands use minecraft:deep_lukewarm_ocean.
The locate command requires cheats and searches the current dimension. Use the same namespaced ID in Bedrock add-on data that asks for a biome identifier.
Limits and edition notes
- This page covers Bedrock Edition. Java Edition terrain and spawning can differ.
- The deep_ocean label does not promise one fixed water depth. Inspect the exact location before building.
- Warm Ocean and Deep Lukewarm Ocean are separate biomes, so do not count on finding coral here.
- A biome match does not guarantee a structure or every possible sea-floor feature.
